Lynn and Samit’s wedding was a colorful blend of Hindu and Korean traditions celebrated in Samit’s hometown of Houston, TX. Three days of events culminated in a traditional Hindu ceremony at Meenakshi Temple, where they were joined by friends and family from all over the world. I was struck by the generosity of Lynn and Samit’s families and the pure joy of their guests. But most of all, I felt so blessed to witness the sweet and subtle ways that Samit and Lynn showed their love for each other throughout the day. There were so many joyful moments, and these are a few of my favorite images. Congratulations, Lynn and Samit! Thank you so much for sharing your day with me!
Thao and Andy’s DC-themed wedding started off at the absolutely breathtaking Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. After some photos around town and a few hours’ break (or as Thao called it, ‘naptime’), the celebration continued across the river in Arlington, VA at the Key Bridge Marriott. The floor to ceiling windows of the Capital View Ballroom provided guests with sweeping views of the city throughout the night. Though the day was filled with many moments of tears and laughter, the highlight (for me) was when Andy and Thao read aloud their betrothal letters, so heart-felt and sweet, to their guests. Congratulations, Thao and Andy! Thank you for sharing your day with me!

Colleen and Aaron’s wedding day at Peche Sherman Mills in Philadelphia was a romantic and elegant affair. After a simple ceremony, the celebration continued with dinner and dancing in the beautiful adjoining loft space, where guests feasted on an array of culinary treats (including Philly cheesesteaks and soft pretzels)! When the reception ended, Colleen and Aaron’s night wasn’t quite over. As Colleen’s wedding gift to Aaron, a limo was waiting to take them to the airport for a midnight helicopter ride over Philly! Kudos to Colleen for planning such a unique and memorable end to their day.
Peche Sherman Mills is an old textile factory and provides an open loft space with just columns and drapes, a blank canvas waiting to be filled. Colleen is an interior designer, and she was the person responsible for the design and decor of both the ceremony and reception spaces (yes, she’s beautiful AND talented). They were absolutely gorgeous, and, though I don’t normally post many details here, I’d like to share some of the fruits of her labor!
Congratulations, Colleen & Aaron! Thank you so much for sharing your day (and those unforgettable views of Philly) with me!

On a perfectly crisp autumn-like day, my beautiful little sister Tricia got married. She and my (cool and talented) new brother-in-law Charlie wed in Charlie’s hometown of Minneapolis. Their downtown wedding with vintage touches was simple and classy. After their ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, we celebrated into the night at Vincent A Restaurant. From the scrumptious 5-course dinner to their unannounced ‘first’ dance to Os Mutantes’ Baby, the entire evening reflected an understated elegance which complemented their easy-going nature. I was so happy to not only see my sister marry Charlie but also to be the one to photograph their day. Congrats, Trish & Charlie! xoxo
Special thanks to Joe Dickie for coming out to second shoot with me.

Sarah, these photos are AMAZING. I can’t believe some of these shots! You really captured the feel of our wedding and I will be able to relive it all through your photographs. I’m so lucky to have you as a sister, regardless of your immense talent. All that, in such a small person.
Aw Trish, YOU’RE amazing! It was such a fabulous & classy wedding – thanks so much for asking me to photograph it! So happy for you both!! xo
Tricia and Charlie are a couple that is very special to me, because Tricia happens to be my sister! We are a family of five sisters, and Tricia is the youngest. Growing up, she was always the cute one, and somehow, in my mind, she will always be twelve. In reality, though, she’s a (hilarious, independent, kind-hearted) full-fledged adult, and I couldn’t be happier for her and Charlie. I was so excited to be asked to photograph their wedding in Minneapolis (where Charlie grew up and Tricia lived for a brief time). They chose to have their engagement session at beautiful Lake Harriet, a place which holds many childhood memories for Charlie. It was an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Here are a few of my favorite images:
