This little cutie celebrated turning one with a family photo session at the Oakland Museum of CA!
I’m thrilled to announce that I won another WPJA award in their latest photojournalism contest! This image, which placed in the Getting Ready category, was taken at Elizabeth and Emanuel’s beautiful private estate wedding this past summer. I was lucky enough to capture their day as a second shooter with my friend Kristin. I’m proud and honored to be named among the international award winners!
From the WPJA website:
The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography.
The Wedding Photojournalist Association puts the world’s best wedding photography at your fingertips. We offer a new perspective on wedding photography – quietly capturing the real moments as they happen for the bride and groom. It is our goal to use photography to tell the story of your wedding day, not dictate it for you.
Ellie and Thomas tied the knot among the majestic hills at the Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore. I loved spending the day with their friends and family and was struck by everyone’s kindness. There were so many emotional moments throughout the day, from exchanging their own vows to tearful parent dances to getting a perfect score on the wedding shoe game! Congrats, Ellie & Thomas, thank you for sharing your day with me!
I met up with Ellie and Thomas on a typical cloudy August afternoon in San Francisco. As we walked through the Palace of Fine Arts, the sun peeked in and out, but it all but disappeared when we later headed down to Baker Beach. I was so pleased with what resulted from the combination of the peek-a-boo sun, the dramatic fog-covered Golden Gate Bridge, and Ellie and Thomas’ natural playfulness. I’m so looking forward to photographing these two again at their wedding next month!
I recently met up with Patricia and Alex for their laughter-filled engagement session. As we strolled through Yerba Buena Gardens, I couldn’t help but get caught up in their infectious laughter and energy. Afterward, we swung by one of their favorite restaurants, Trou Normand, where we had the beautiful light-filled space to ourselves! I can’t wait to photograph these two again in a few months when they tie the knot at the Julia Morgan Ballroom!
